BAC Executive Committee

The Black Alumni Council (BAC) works diligently throughout the year with alumni, students, and prospective students, to advocate for The College of Wooster. Leadership includes:

The president serves a two year term, following a two year term as president-elect of the BAC of The College of Wooster. The president of the BAC is the official spokesperson and representative of the BAC. The president supervises all BAC meetings and events. The president is the official contact person between the BAC and the College. The president is responsible for setting meeting agendas, overseeing the efforts of the BAC, and for working with the College contact, the Director of Alumni Engagement.


The president-elect serves a two year term, followed by a two year term as president. The president-elect is responsible for overseeing the efforts of all officers/liaisons. In the absence of the president, the president-elect shall perform the duties of the president. 


The secretary is the primary record keeper of all BAC meetings and activities. The secretary is required to have strong organizational skills and meticulous record-keeping. The secretary is also responsible for communicating meeting times, encouraging membership participation in meetings and events , confirming logistics, and maintaining the official active membership list. The secretary works closely with the Office of Alumni Engagement, through the president, to develop ways to recruit Black alumni to join the Council. 

Cohort Liaisons
Cohort Liaisons shall represent the specific interests of their cohort to the BAC board; shall encourage active participation of their cohort in BAC activities; and shall perform other duties as may be prescribed by the BAC board.

Meeting expectations:

The President will host monthly conference calls with the Executive Committee. Officers are expected to participate in all conference calls. If an officer cannot participate in particular monthly call, the officer should notify the president and provide any updates prior to the conference call. If Executive Committee members are unable to attend on-campus meetings, they may participate via conference call. If the secretary is unable to participate in a conference call or a meeting, he/she shall contact the President at least one week in advance.
